We know you’re tired of hunting the authentic natural whole wheat bread and digging the nutrition labels of the available ones in search of healthy bread. And hence we bring you a recipe by which you can now bake your own wholesome healthy and hearty bread at home.
The recipe makes a 400g loaf of bread, which you may conveniently consume through the week (when stored in fridge).
Hearty Homemade Bread
Preparation Time: 2 hours
Ingredients:
75 gm Soya Flour
50 gm Besan (Bengal gram flour)
100 gm Whole Wheat Flour
25 gm Wheat bran
4 gm Salt
5 gm Sugar
25 gm Oil
4 gm Dry Instant Yeast
10gm Sunflower seeds + sesame seeds + flax seeds (proportions may vary as per your preference)
200ml Water
Preparation:
Dissolve dry yeast in 3 table spoon luke warm water for 5 mins. This will allow the yeast to activate i.e.form bubbles.
In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and knead soft dough, until the dough pops back when pressed with finger. (Reserve some of the seeds you will require while rolling the loaf).
Roll the dough into a long loaf. Spread the seeds on a plate and roll the loaf on it such that the seeds cover all the sides of the dough.
Place the dough in a greased cuboid baking tin or heat resistant glass dish. Cover the surface of the tin with a wet towel.
Allow to stand for 1 hr (or until it rises to the rim of the baking tin).
Place in the preheated oven at 220C for 15 min.
