Ladoos have been an all time favourite across age groups. With the current trend of healthy eating, high fat and high sugar foods like these have been labelled as fattening. Here's a recipe which lets you enjoy this sweet delicacy, devoid of fat and white sugar. It's made of whole grains which benefits you with vitamins, minerals, fibre and protein too. Besides, the coconut used is a source of MCT (medium chain triglycerides) which when eaten in moderation is known to reduce belly fat. Thus, this modified healthy version of ladoo sure is a treat to your taste buds and body.
Roast all grains separately till it leaves the raw aroma and grind it to a fine powder. Keep some powder aside to coat the balls later.
In a different pan, boil water, add jaggery and cook the syrup to a right consistency, (let couple of drops of the syrup in a bowl of water, if it rolls it into a ball it's perfect, if it solidifies then it's been over cooked).
Reduce the flame, add the roasted grain powder into the jaggery syrup. Mix well.
Take it out of flame and mix in the freshly chopped coconut pieces and sprinkle the cardamon powder.
Mix all the ingredients well, and while hot roll it into small balls and coat it with leftover multigrain powder.
Note- You can also add roasted nuts like almonds, cashew- But this is purely optional
