Ingredients ( Serves 2)
Whole jowar grain - I/2 cup
Carrot - 1 medium
Green peas - 1/2 cup
Cucumber - 1 medium
Capsicum - 1/2 medium
Split black dal/ gram dal - 1 handful
Oil - 2 tsp
Spices - Curry leaves (4-5) , green chillies (2 small) ,
ginger shredded ( 2 tsp) , salt ,
black pepper
Lemon - 1/2 small
Method
Soak jowar overnight.
Pressure cook jowar for 6-7 whistles.
Chop carrots,cucumber and capsicum into small cubes.
In a pan, heat oil, add split gram dal,curry leaves,green chillies and shredded ginger. Let it cook.
Add vegetables and water. Let the vegetables cook.
Add boiled jowar grains, salt and pepper.
Mix well. Squeeze half a lemon.
If you wish to , you can garnish with coriander too.
Sumptuous and spicy sorghum bowl is ready.
